‘Crising’ weakens, now an LPA

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Crising was downgraded into a low-pressure area (LPA) after its intensity weakened on Friday morning. Zamboanga Peninsula on Saturday is forecast to experience scattered rain showers due to the movement of the LPA. Pagasa said the LPA could pass and bring rain in a portion of Palawan on Sunday. In Mati City, Davao Oriental, almost 200 individuals were evacuated as Crising dumped rain for six hours, flooding at least three villages on Friday. The continuous rain caused the Bitan-agan River to swell, flooding homes in Matiao, Dahican, and Don Enrique Lopez villages.
