Marjorie Waymouth, a Natwest customer, was defrauded of £33,000 by people posing as police officers. Unlike others who have suffered a similar fate but have told no one out of a sense of shame and fear of derision, Ms Waymouth, 83 has been brave enough to speak out about her case, despite its impact on her health. After the intervention of Times Money last year, Natwest paid her £20,000 as a gesture of goodwill, but following the announcement of the new voluntary code for the payment of refunds, she is contemplating claiming back all her losses.
