Over two lakh devotees thronged Simhachalam for ‘nijaroopa’ darshan of Lord Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy on the occasion of the annual ‘Chandanotsavam’ on Tuesday. The Chandanotsavam started after ‘suprabhata seva’ at 1a.m., followed by ‘aradhana’ and Viswaksena pujas after which the doors of the sanctum sanctorum were closed. Endowments Commissioner M. Padma, presented silk clothes and sandal paste, on behalf of the State government. Joint Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Srinivasa Raju, presented silk clothes to the Lord on behalf of TTD. Shelters were, however, provided at some places and water and buttermilk was provided to devotees by various organisations, he said.
