Attorney General Mahbubey Alam addressed the press Saturday evening, commenting on the recent events regarding Chief Justice SK Sinha and his leave. He said: “Five Appellate Division judges have refused to work with the chief justice. AG Mahbubey Alam said under the current circumstances, it is highly unlikely that the chief justice can just pick up where he left. He also said the statement issued by five Supreme Court judges clarified the contradictory statements made by the chief justice. The president has empowered Justice Abdul Wahab Mia to carry out the duties of the chief justice in his absence.”
