‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ made the majority of its earnings from the Hindi version which beat the opening day collections of the other two recent blockbusters—Salman Khan’s Sultan (Rs36.54 crore) and Aamir Khan’s Dangal (Rs29.78 crore). The Hindi version of the film alone made about Rs41 crore, while the Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions together brought in another Rs80 crore. This is the highest opening day figure for an Indian film, though the release spans four languages. Baahubali 2 easily beat the highest opening day earners of the year so far, the list included Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 and Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt’s Badrinath Ki Dulhania that earned Rs20.42 crore, Rs13.2 crore and Rs12.25 crore respectively. Online ticketing platform BookMyShow had registered over a million ticket bookings for the Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-starrer within a day of opening bookings.
