Public health officials have issued stark warnings about the spread of Covid-19 after a further three people died and record number of new cases were recorded. The National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) said on Saturday a further 1,012 new cases of the disease were reported. It is the highest number of cases in a single day since the height of the pandemic on April 15th, when 1,068 were recorded. At 8pm on Saturday night there were 198 confirmed cases in Irish hospitals, 103 suspected cases. All of today’s 1,012 cases were notified to @hpscireland over a period of 24 hours up to midnight.
