‘All outdated trains to be replaced in next three years’


Railwa­ys minist­er says he has no issue with Sindh govern­mentKARACHI: Federal Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has claimed that in three years, there will be no train carriages that could be called outdated. He also said that this was for the first time since 1985 that there are 12 functional cargo trains in the country. The minister said that he had no issue with the Sindh government regarding the Karachi Circular Railway project and he was in fact glad that it was back on track. Upon his visit to the City Railway Station, Rafique was briefed on the affairs of the Karachi division. He also announced that work on the ML-I project will begin in the third quarter of 2018 as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
