more-inThe District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) is set to kick-start the second phase of ‘Agasthyante Poompattakal’, a programme for tribal children in settlements inside the Kottoor forests, near here. Following a vacation camp held for children in May this year, six children from the Anakaal tribal settlement have started going to school. The DCPU had undertaken frequent visits to the settlements in the January-June period, collected children’s details, held a camp, made house visits, and set up youth clubs. Now, under the second phase, 24 MSW students will visit various settlements on Saturdays and Sundays, and after collecting children’s basic details, they will draw up individual care plans. Camp in KottoorIt will also hold a camp for members of the youth club formed in Kottoor.
