I look forward to a state solution, I think there should be a Palestinian state but it’s only going to come with direct negotiations. Let’s not forget a bit of history here, which is that we tried to create a Palestinian state in the 90s. Mr Harris said the Palestinian state would be formally recognised next Tuesday and he suggested there should be statements in the Dáil on the issue. The goal is to achieve a Palestinian state that is politically cohesive, and that derives from the Palestinian Authority, he said.
