Magnitude 4.1 earthquake strikes Batanes – PhivolcsBy The Manila TimesA magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck Batanes on Monday, according to a report from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The epicenter of the quake is at 20.56 degrees north, 120.66 degrees east, 126 kilometers south, and 78 degrees west of Itbayat. Phivolcs said the earthquake, tectonic in origin, was felt at 12:06 p.m and again at 12:44 p.m. at magnitude 3 on the Richter scale. No damage or aftershocks are expected. ARIC JOHN SY CUA
