Electricity generator KenGen on Monday announced plans to raise an additional Sh28.8 billion through a rights issue. Eng Albert Mugo, Kengen managing director, asked shareholders to increase their investments in the company. We have also maintained a consistent and stable dividends to our shareholders," Mugo said. The KenGen boss said that the power demand in the country is expected to pass the 4000MW mark by 2020. "It is therefore imperative for shareholders to take up their rights so that we can get enough money for expansion," he said.
