A Sh3 billion luxurious resort has opened its doors in Kilifi, the aim being high-end tourism both locally and internationally. Silver Palm Spa and Resort is a five-star establishment on Kilifi beach, with stunning ocean views and easy access by road. It is 70 kms from Mombasa, 35 kms from Vipingo ridge and 55 kms from Malindi airport. Journalists who toured the resort on Friday found it has 24 double rooms with the choices of lush gardens, pools or sea views. Otieno said the resort's furniture is made from local palm wood, a step he said they took to empower residents.
