Millions of naira in properties are believed to have been lost as a building located on Adesina Street, Akowonjo, Lagos, was engulfed in fire on Boxing Day (today). The building is believed to house a telecommunications (name withheld) office in the area. Though the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, residents of the neighbourhood moved swiftly to put the fire out, working at it until men of the Lagos State Fire Service and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency arrived around 11 am.
