IEBC chairman Issack Hassan hinted on Monday that commissioners may leave office should there be no political goodwill regarding the stalemate. But Hassan "strongly advised" against disbandment saying IEBC staff should be focusing on preparations for the August 2017 general election. Hassan said the commission has sealed loopholes to ensure the next poll is credible through early procurement of equipment. Citing several elections and the 2010 referendum, the chairman assured the IEBC has sufficient experience to manage the general election.
