Minority Advises Govt To Pull Brakes On $1bn Syndicated Loan Agreement
The Minority in Parliament has warned the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government to desist from moving further in getting the House to approve a 1 billion dollar syndicated loan. “I think that both the Majority and Minority must do the needful and ask the Finance Minister to withdraw this request. “In view of the above, we in the NDC cannot lend support to the 1 billion syndicated loan agreement. The Finance Ministry is seeking Parliament’s approval for a 750 million dollar loan facility agreement between AfreximBank and a 250 million dollar loan agreement from a syndication of banks to finance Capital and Growth-related expenditures in the 2022 budget. Government proposes 3-year Enhanced Domestic Programme facility with IMF

Accordingly, a new facility from the Fund will add to the country’s existing debt, although, this is preferably a cheaper option than commercial loans. Kuotokrom-Yawhwima residents demonstrate over poor road network
The demonstrators trekked the entire 15 kilometres stretch from Yawhwima through Kuotokrom before finally presenting a petition to the Bono Regional Coordinating Council. Placards with inscriptions such as; “Fix our road now”, “We deserve better” and “Enough is enough”, depicted the anger of the residents as far as the deplorable nature of the road is concerned. A businesswoman, Madam Yaa Henewaa, revealed that she took part in the demonstration because the dusty nature of the road has affected her business and made her unemployed. “I took part in the demonstration because the dusty nature of the road has put most of us out of business so this is a way of registering our displeasure. He indicated that instead of four passengers, the driver was carrying six passengers. The commander stated that preliminary investigations had established the cause of the accident to be overspeeding on the part of the taxi driver who veered off his lane into that of the tipper truck, resulting in the head-on collision.

According to the father of the girl, Mr. Francis Bronya, his daughter, the class prefect of the school was tasked to write names of students who reported late to school as well as absentees. The father said unknown to her, one of her colleagues wrote her name as well in the list when she stepped out to attend to nature's call. Mr. Bronya said her teacher was enraged by the girl's action and punished them by spanking the whole class and later invited the victim to the front row of the class and gave her extra lashes of which she was alleged to have collapsed. The father said the girl was later rushed to the hospital after which a formal complaint was lodged with the Half Assini Police.

Government committed to a successful IMF negotiating programme – Finance Ministry

Ghana banned by CAF over age-cheating
Ghana was found guilty by CAF after Morocco protested the ages of two Black Maidens players Nancy Amoh and Rasheeda Shahadu. The ban means Ghana’s u-17 side would not partake in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup African Qualifiers and would have to pay a fine of $100,000. Following the protest by Morocco, the Ghana Football Association was allowed to contest the case over the accusations of a falsified birthdate. Ghana’s u-17 side played Morocco in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup African Qualifiers. The Black Maidens lost by 4-2 on penalty shootout in the return leg as the Moroccans qualified to play at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
