New York Times: “Facing the possibility of big losses for Republicans in the midterm elections, President Trump has reiterated his unfounded assertions of electoral fraud. He has also begun speaking of the need to ‘nationalize’ elections, and for Republican officials to ‘take over’ voting procedures in parts of the country.”“This rhetoric is often vague, coming across as a hint of plan, rather than an actual one.”“But a map of potential targets may be coming into focus and includes the swing states Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina and Arizona. Voting experts, government officials and others have identified a host of conditions that could make those places ripe for meddling from the Trump administration or its allies.”

By Auzinea Bacon, David Goldman, CNN(CNN) — The price of oil surged past $100 per barrel on Sunday, the first time it crossed that mark since Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Iran has threatened to attack any oil tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil transits. US oil futures rose 18% to about $108 a barrel, their highest level since July 19, 2022. Surging oil prices have weighed heavily on stocks in recent days, as traders fear that a prolonged spike in fuel prices could lead to another spike in inflation and hurt the economy. “Iran will not give up control of the Strait of Hormuz until it achieves its desired results,” the official said.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a U.S.-Israeli strike at the start of the conflict, now in its second week. “Having Mojtaba take over is the same playbook,” said Alex Vatanka, a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute. The news of the fallen service member comes a day after the dignified transfer for the six soldiers who were killed last week in Kuwait. ‘Please, win this for my child.’”The president has previously said there will likely be more US casualties in the Iran war.

For about the first two weeks of training camp this summer, the New York Giants will not train at the Meadowlands, per Paul Schwartz. Instead they will decamp, so to speak, to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, where they will train at The Greenbrier Resort. The second reason, which is a plus for the players, is that their locker room, weight room, cafeteria, and offices at Quest Diagnostics Training Center are being upgraded. The owners liked the idea and the resort staff created three NFL-caliber football fields and a training center to host them. The New Orleans Saints holding training camp at the Greenbrier in 2015.

You can thank daylight saving time for Sunday’s revision to the sunrise schedule. Overnight, daylight saving time kicked in, giving us an extra hour of sunlight in the afternoon and stealing an hour of sleep. “There’s only, right now, three choices: year-round daylight saving time, year-round standard time, and what we have,” the author of “Saving the Daylight” said. History somewhat repeated itself in 2021 with the Sunshine Protection Act (S-623) to make daylight saving time permanent. Daylight saving was established by Germany in 1916 during World War I as an energy-saving measure, and the U.S. followed suit two years later .

The Ukiah demonstration, held each Saturday at 1 p.m., featured signs criticizing Trump, calling for peace and opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions. Participants lined the sidewalk along State Street holding handmade signs and banners as passing motorists drove by. Some demonstrators carried banners affiliated with Indivisible Ukiah , a local activist organization. In Humboldt County, Indivisible Trinidad, a grassroots group opposing Trump administration policies, has endorsed a resolution headed to the Trinidad City Council supporting inclusivity and due process in immigration enforcement. Tina Freeland, an organizer with Indivisible Trinidad, said the group believes local governments should publicly affirm those principles even though immigration enforcement itself is handled at the federal level.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS - MARCH 3: Casey Mittelstadt #11 of the Boston Bruins scores against Stuart Skinner #74 of the Pittsburgh Penguins during the first period at the TD Garden on March 3, 2026 in Boston, Massachusetts. (Photo by Richard T Gagnon/Getty Images) Getty Images4:30 on a Sunday would seem more normal a start time for a Boston-Pittsburgh game in the NFL, but here we are! The Bruins and Penguins face one another for the second time this week, with Tuesday’s Bruins win coming at TD Garden. While the Penguins appear to be in relatively comfortable playoff position at 3rd in the Metropolitan Division, they’re only three points ahead of Columbus. The Pens have also lost three games in a row and four of five, so the Bruins should be facing a pretty desperate team today.

This led Blow to demand clear answers from Rantz about exactly how the Trump administration plans to satisfy its ever-shifting rationales for the war. “We’re going to stop them from getting nuclear weapons, right?” Blow asked Rantz. Rantz argued satellite confirmation would only be “a start,” but then claimed not to understand Blow’s point, asking the Harvard fellow if he disagrees with the objective of stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons. “Do you believe what the president said the first time they attacked Iran’s nuclear weapons?” Blow replied. “You recognize that an ambient threat is not the same as an imminent threat, right?” Blow asked.
