I have been to a local PSC meeting where a British doctor who was recently working in Gaza (for Medical Aid for Palestine) spoke. He told us how the “safe house” for medical staff which he was staying in was deliberately targeted by an IDF missile. It was only categorised as a safe house for two reasons. Firstly because the Israeli military authorities were fully aware that it contained only medical staff. He showed us photos of this alledgedly safe house including from Google earth and after the missile strike.

I follow a few more liberal sites and some of the same things are being said in those places as well. 2 There are antisemetic protesters and therefore all of them are antisem etic and the protests are bullshit as a result. The hilarious thing is, if Americans were in the Palestinian situation they would not do better than the Palestinians have! And if that population got outside help and kicked American asses and kept expanding their territory, what exactly do you think would happen? www.washingtonpost.com/…theintercept.com/…www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/…I want to next talk about antisemitism, but I didn’t realize the diary would be so long to begin with.

If Winston is truly concerned about Chinese influence in NZ politics how can he insinuate Bob Carr’s links to China when his Prime Minister’s best mate John Key is the unofficial Ambassador to Beijing? If Winston is looking for Chinese thralls inside NZ, shouldn’t he start with his own Prime Minister’s couch? Is the Foreign Minister ‘all right’, because he seems to be degenerating faster than Biden before our eyes. Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here. Liverpool are reportedly preparing to reward Jarell Quansah with a new contractLiverpool star Jarell Quansah will reportedly be rewarded for a positive breakthrough season with a new Reds contract this summer. An England U21 international, Quansah was rewarded with a new deal after returning from a loan spell with Bristol Rovers last summer. But a bumper pay rise is expected to be the reward for a fine first season in the Liverpool first team. That, though, is reportedly not expected to change Liverpool’s plans to improve their defensive options over the summer. Liverpool are reportedly in talks with the entourage of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Willian Pacho over a summer deal, the Mirror story continues.

MIAMI -- Max Verstappen secured pole position for Sunday's Miami Grand Prix after beating Ferrari's Charles Leclerc to the fastest lap in Saturday's qualifying session. The front row mirrors the result of sprint qualifying, which led to Verstappen beating Leclerc to victory in the 19-lap sprint race. As he has done throughout the season, Verstappen appeared unbeatable despite struggling with the balance of the weekend. Daniel Ricciardo, who finished fourth in Saturday's sprint race earlier in the day, was 0.164s off a place in Q2 and will line up 18th on the grid for the grand prix. Kevin Magnussen was 19th fastest ahead of Zhou Guanyu, who will start from last place for Sauber on Sunday.

ISW will cover subsequent reports in the May 4 Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment. [vii] Zelensky warned that Russian forces are preparing to expand their offensive operations in Ukraine, likely referring to the anticipated Summer 2024 Russian offensive operation, and that Ukraine is facing a “new stage” of the war. Pavlyuk stated on May 3 that Russian forces have advantages over Ukrainian forces in artillery and aviation but suggested that Ukrainian forces can obtain a technological advantage over Russian forces using drones. [xxxvi] Shoigu may hope to similarly temper domestic expectations about Russian forces anticipated Summer 2024 offensive operation, particularly since Russian forces will be facing better-equipped Ukrainian forces than the Russian military command likely previously expected. [lxxxii] Russian milbloggers claimed that Russian forces control part or most of Arkhanhelske (northeast of Ocheretyne and north of Avdiivka) and one milblogger claimed that Russian forces advanced 3.85 kilometers wide and two kilometers in depth into central Arkhanhelske.

Eduardo Cuevas of USA Today reports the case of “Columbia University Professor of Japanese Cultural History, Gregory Pflugfelder. Residing in an apartment opposite the campus, he stepped out and decided to film the interaction of the NYPD with the student protesters without entering campus grounds or interfering. Why is it lost on so many University administrators that dialogue is always more effective than discord to address the demands of its student body? The Guardian has an excellent piece about the few schools which chose the former. Police brutality and the suppression of Constitutional rights did not occur as a result.

Dozens of students at the University of Mississippi gathered this week to protest against Israel’s war in Gaza and call for the state’s flagship university to be transparent in its potential dealings with Israel. There were hundreds of counter-protesters, in contrast to the few dozen pro-Palestine protesters. The counter-protesters included individuals waving US and Donald Trump flags. There were no arrests, but the actions of the counter-protesters – who shouted 'Fuck Joe Biden' and 'USA', and included a white man apparently making monkey noises at a Black woman – have been widely condemned on social media. Police safely evacuated the pro-Palestine students.

In contrast, Labour won councils that the party hasn't held for decades, regional mayorships, and a special election for the Blackpool South seat in parliament. "Here in Blackpool, a message has been sent directly to the prime minister," Labour leader Keir Starmer said. "This was directly to Rishi Sunak to say we are fed up with your decline, your chaos and your division and we want change," Starmer added.Sunak has the power to decide the general election date, but it must be held before January 28 next year at the latest. He struck a defiant note after the Conservative Ben Houchen won re-election as the mayor of the northern region of Tees Valley. "Come a general election, [voters] are going to stick with us too," Sunak said. The chairman of the Conservative Party, Richard Holden, said it had been "a tough night.
