Anyone wondering why Steven Naismith is talking about keeping Hearts’ summer transfer business tight needs to know one thing. When I first signed for Hearts in the winter window of 2010 there were SIXTY-THREE players in the squad. You only have to remember those early months this season where Lawrence’s goals carried the team. The campaign isn’t over though and it would be great to see Lawrence hit the 30 goals mark and Hearts to finish strongly. Nobody can argue now that Hearts are the third biggest club in the country.

In his parliamentary sketch in The Times, Tom Peck describes Natalie Elphicke's appearance on the Labour benches at PMQs as a "fireworks display", adding "somebody, somewhere might find they've been badly burned". The Daily Mirror's editorial says "when the likes of Ms Elphicke decide Britain will be better served with Keir Starmer in Number 10 it shows how much Labour has changed". In The Daily Mail, Quentin Letts notes that he saw only three Labour MPs shake Ms Elphicke's hand, but that she "soaked up the sunrays of everyone's attention", before leaving the chamber, shoulder-to-shoulder with Labour's leader, as they shared an awkward silence.

"We need to move on from the broken promises of Rishi Sunak's tired and chaotic government," said Elphicke, who represents the constituency of Dover in southern England, which is at the front line of migrant crossings from France. "Under Rishi Sunak, the Conservatives have become a byword for incompetence and division. "Elphicke is the second Conservative lawmaker to defect to Labour in two weeks after Dan Poulter quit in anger over the government's handling of the National Health Service The defection of Elphicke is particularly surprising as she was widely considered to be on the right of the Conservative Party and has been hugely critical of Labour in the past. But she has recently been increasingly disapproving of the government's approach to migrant crossings.

The second Tory to defect to Labour in as many weeks is none other than Natalie Elphicke, MP for Dover. ‘The modern Labour Party looks to the future,’ Elphicke continued, listing the Tory government’s failures on small boats, housing and homelessness. Looks like it’ll just have to be more of the ‘same old Labour’ for Elphicke now, too. https://t.co/Kr4d1QRmVQ — Natalie Elphicke MP (@NatalieElphicke) September 25, 2022HousingIn the Dover MP’s statement today, she slammed Sunak’s government for ‘failing to build the homes we need’. Mr S wonders how well her anti-strike stance will go down in Labour circles given it was, er, created by the trade unions.

Britain’s diplomatic feud with Russia escalated on Wednesday after the British government announced it would expel a senior Russian diplomat who officials claim is an “undeclared” military intelligence officer, and also shut down several Russian diplomatic facilities in the country. The government accused Russia’s foreign intelligence service, the Federal Security Service, or F.S.B., of a pattern of “malign activity” in Britain and Europe, including hacking and leaking trade documents relating to the United States, and targeting of British lawmakers through malicious email campaigns. James Cleverly, the British home secretary, told Parliament that the government was announcing the retaliatory measures “to make clear to Russia that we will not tolerate such apparent escalations.”Britain’s action came two days after the Russian Foreign Ministry said it had summoned the British ambassador to Moscow to lodge a “strong protest” over remarks the British foreign secretary, David Cameron, had made about Ukraine’s using weapons supplied by Britain to strike Russian territory.

Due to a shortage of radiologists and other imaging specialists, AI-enabled technologies are of significant interest—and hold particular promise—in medical imaging. Artificial intelligence (A)I technology has the potential for substantial applications in the world of health care. [3]The efficiency gains from AI are of particular value to the world of medical imaging given the shortage of radiologists and imaging specialists in many countries. Such an agreement would typically be financed by a specialist organisation and used by healthcare bodies to develop or upgrade the whole medical imaging department or radiology equipment fleet. LONDON - Four current British newspaper editors and a string of other senior press figures have been named in a privacy lawsuit brought by Prince Harry and other public figures against the publisher of the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday. Prince Harry, the younger son of King Charles, is one of seven claimants suing Associated Newspapers over allegations of voicemail interception – commonly known as phone-hacking – and other serious privacy breaches dating back 30 years. He and the other claimants, including singer Elton John and actors Elizabeth Hurley and Sadie Frost, have named around 70 current and former Associated Newspapers employees whom they accuse of past involvement in unlawful information gathering. Restrictions on identifying them were lifted when Associated Newspapers filed its written defence at London's High Court, which was made public on May 8. Prince Harry has brought several lawsuits against British media organisations as part of his "mission" to purge executives and editors whom he accuses of spreading lies and intruding into people's lives.

There's a bit of aggro brewing between Brendan Rodgers and Philippe Clement - and the bookies believe it could easily boil over this weekend. Rangers boss Clement was left rankling after his Celtic counterpart claimed his side are going to have 'fun' in the final derby of the season on Sunday. That means the pressure is building on Rangers and the tensions are mounting ahead of the massive Parkhead clash. Clement felt 'disrespected' by Rodgers and could that bleed into some unsavoury touchline scenes? They have 6/4 on no handshake between the managers before the game and under evens at 10/11 after the full-time whistle.

Football writer Henry Winter has joined Glasgow-based daily The Herald to cover this Saturday’s Glasgow derby between Celtic and Rangers. Henry, a former Football Writer of the Year, revealed last month he was being made redundant from his role of chief football writer at The Times after nine years of service. Speaking to The Herald, Henry, pictured, said: It’s always good to be associated with The Herald having done my student years in Edinburgh, you were the big sponsors and judges of the student awards then. One of the treats, as well as a night out in Glasgow, was being shown around the offices and the print side as well. Having Henry spend a few days in Glasgow more than hits the mark on that front.
