From the outside looking in, athletes often appear to be the pinnacle of physical health. Disordered eating is a widespread issue, and the sporting world is no exception. Dr Anthony Papathomas, Reader in Mental Health in Sport and part of Loughborough University’s Women in Sport Research and Innovation Hub, explained disordered eating in athletes and how we must collectively change perceptions. “I’ve spoken to athletes who would think that if they eat a Mars bar, it would be immediately visible on their body,” he explained. Julie Rowland has worked for the NHS for more than 30 years. In April she was admitted to A&E at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill with a potential bleed on her brain. Ms Rowland said she was becoming more ill and thought "I've had a brain haemorrhage...I'm gonna die on this trolley". Recalling her time in A&E Ms Rowland said it was "wall to wall chaos, noise, unprofessional, non-caring, chaotic, disorganised madness". Ms Rowland said she had lost much of her sight since her hospital admission but as she had not received a diagnosis she could not begin treatment.

Iran has today admitted its nuclear facilities were 'badly damaged' by US bombs after Donald Trump insisted they were 'obliterated' and lashed out at 'fake' news coverage suggesting he failed to deliver a knock-out blow. Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei conceded there had been significant impact caused by American bunker-busting bombs at the country's three main nuclear sites at Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz. It comes after Trump insisted the nuclear facilities were 'obliterated' and compared his airstrikes to the two nuclear bombs dropped on Japan at the end of World War II. Meanwhile NATO chief Mark Rutte suggested Donald Trump dealt with Israel and Iran's war in the Middle East like a 'daddy' who uses 'strong language' to stop two children fighting in a schoolyard. Trump yesterday shared private messages from Rutte which also showed him gushing over the 'extraordinary' US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, which the US leader said 'obliterated' the sites.

A film director found dead with her Rolex watch missing had been stabbed in the neck eight times, the Old Bailey has heard. Jennifer Abbott Dauward - also known as Sarah Steinberg - was discovered on the floor of her flat in Camden, north London, partially covered with a blanket and with black tape on her mouth, the court was told. Ms Abbott, 69, was last seen alive on CCTV footage on 10 June as she returned from walking her dog. Her sister Nancy Pexton, 69, is accused of murder. Ms Pexton, who is nine months younger than her sister, was remanded in custody until a plea hearing set for 9 September.

The Foreign Office said further flights would be considered depending on demand, and British nationals are urged to continue registering their presence in Israel and the Palestinian territories. The first Britons to be evacuated from Israel via this route landed at Birmingham airport in the early hours of Tuesday. Passengers paid £350 each for the journey, which was organised by the Foreign Office. Foreign Office minister Hamish Falconer told the Commons that the “flow of flights out of Israel still remain limited” because of the country’s conflict with Iran. “Our embassy in Tehran has been temporarily withdrawn but continues to provide support for British nationals in Iran remotely.”
