‌The U-turn from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde led to calls for Scottish Government ministers who took part in the “cover-up” to face a corporate homicide inquiry. ‌The dramatic admission came in documents submitted to the public inquiry into the design and construction of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) campus. ‌At least 84 children fell ill with infections and two died, including 10-year-old Milly Main, who was being treated for leukaemia in the Royal Hospital for Children. Health chiefs also conceded they mistreated the whistleblowers they had previously criticised for raising concerns about the hospital campus - and issued an ‘unreserved’ apology. “Every step of the way they have been supported by SNP ministers, who never stopped lying to hide the truth of their failure.

Hundreds of counterprotesters on Saturday drowned out a far-right activist’s attempt to hold a small rally in support of the Trump administration’s latest immigration crackdown in Minneapolis. During the daily protests, demonstrators have railed against masked immigration officers pulling people from homes and cars and other aggressive tactics. After his recent arrest, a judge ruled that federal officials did not give him enough notice that his supervision status had been revoked. Then Gibson was taken back into custody for several hours on Friday when he made a routine check-in with immigration officials. Gibson’s cousin Abena Abraham said ICE officials told her White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller ordered the second arrest.

ICE detentions are notorious for their inhumane conditions; 32 people died in ICE custody in 2025 alone, matching a record set two decades prior in 2004. Mandated with targeting 100% of people who are “deportable”, the agency has long been unfettered by the (already limited) regulations placed on police or prisons in the criminal legal system. People in ICE detention are not entitled to a lawyer or the due process protections afforded to people within the criminal legal system. Yet Democratic leadership has refused to back the call to defund ICE, with thinktanks suggesting “abolish ICE” goes too far. We need to move away from a system predicated on violence in favor of one that centers people’s humanity.

But doctors inside Iran have painted a far darker picture, according to a new medical report seen by The Times. 'This is a whole new level of brutality,' said Professor Amir Parasta, an Iranian-German eye surgeon who helped coordinate the doctors' report. 'Those linked to Israel and US caused massive damage and killed several thousands', Khamenei said in a speech broadcast on state television on Saturday, as his supporters chanted 'death to America, death to England'. Attendees can then be heard chanting: 'Death to America, death to America, death to America'. 'Death to America, death to England, death to traitors, death to Israel,' attendees chanted back.

Professor Gregory Gregoriadis pioneered the use of liposomes for drug targeting in a paper he co-authored with Brenda Ryman at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1971. The biochemist discovered that encasing vaccines within tiny spherical bubbles of fat – known as liposomes – could increase their effectiveness by producing more antibodies. He co-authored another study, published in Nature magazine in 1974, which demonstrated that liposomes could also act as “immunological adjuvants” to enhance vaccines. Professor Gregory Gregoriadis with Brenda Ryman in their laboratory at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1971 (Gregory Gregoriadis/PA)This work paved the way for modern medical breakthroughs, including the use of lipids in mRNA Covid vaccines. A statement from his family said: “We are immensely proud of his scientific work, which means he leaves a great legacy.
