IQNA – The sister of Brenton Tarrant, the terrorist who carried out the Christchurch mosque attack in March 2019, has given evidence at the inquest into the terrorist attack. She revealed that he once “admitted he thought he was a sociopath and didn’t care for people” and “idolized” Hitler. Deputy Chief Coroner Windley said while Lauren Tarrant had provided the brief, she was unwilling to engage with the inquest process any further. Lauren Tarrant said her brother began playing first-person shooter video games when he was about 6 - and became “obsessed”.

Seymour went on to call NZ media “hateful” and promised to change the media landscape with over 800 new appointments, as his host advocated for a “pogrom” of government critics. For example, Taxpayers Union has been called “ACT in drag” and a “political apparatus” of the National Party in Nicky Hager’s ‘Dirty Politics’. The media is not leading with Opposition headlines – as they did when Luxon and Seymour were in opposition. Many are not even bothering to properly cover opposition perspectives in their articles. Waitaki Valley farmer and artist Emma Nowell, pictured with Lucy, has written and illustrated a children’s book inspired by her family’s hunting adventures. Hunting is one of the family’s favourite activities; in fact, when Mrs Nowell first visited Bellamore with her future husband Ben, he took her hunting on the sheep and beef property which overlooks Lake Waitaki. The 2636ha property where Mr Nowell grew up is now also home to the couple’s three children, Jack, 12, Harry, 10, and Charlie, 7, who are all mad-keen hunters. As she boiled a billy on the little potbelly stove in her cosy studio, Mrs Nowell said she drew all her inspiration from the surrounding area, including the lakes and mountains, and the rural life. Punter the Hunter was inspired by the family’s regular hunting adventures which were often shared with friends and family members.

“This incident did not impact the safety of former President Trump or attendees of the event,” the statement said. The sheriff’s office offered no immediate information on Miller’s intentions. But coming on the heels of two assassination attempts – one in Pennsylvania in which a bullet grazed Trump’s ear, and a second, aborted attempt at his Florida golf course – the arrest raised concerns. There was no immediate comment from either the Trump campaign or the US Secret Service, which is charged with protecting top officials and candidates. Trump’s decision to hold a rally in California surprised political analysts, who note the state is heavily Democratic, but he drew a large crowd, even in temperatures near 100 Fahrenheit (38C).
