A human skull that is suspected to be of a man who died an year ago was on Wednesday afternoon fished out of Lake Victoria. The skull is believed to be that of the late James Nindo Obiero who was allegedly devoured by a crocodile in March 2023 in Kabuong village. "It was reported by one Magdalene Anyango Nindo that today she received information from fishermen that they had retrieved a skull from Lake Victoria believed to belong to her husband, one James Nindo Obiero," Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said. Police officers rushed to the scene and found the said skull on the shores of Lake Victoria where the fishermen had dropped it, Kimaiyo explained. The skull was moved to Madiany SubCounty Hospital Mortuary pending identification and DNA confirmation.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested five former senior county officials of Nyandarua County over loss of Sh13 million. According to EACC, the suspects forged documents purporting that the services were procured and delivered. The Commission established that the money was paid to six companies, which did not supply anything to Nyandarua County Government. Others charges are fraudulent practices in a procurement process contrary to section 66 (1) and making documents without authority contrary to sec 357 (a) of the Penal Code. Some Machakos County Government inspectorate officers were on Wednesday arrested for allegedly attacking an MCA within court premises.
