The potential negative health impact of social media use is attracting greater attention from researchers and policymakers. David Lynch reportsThe possible health impacts of social media use have been in the headlines in recent weeks. The negative consequences of social media use had been a key theme at the Organisation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April. Public health lensThe motions passed by IMO doctors in April reflect the broader public health lens that is increasingly being applied to social media. Parents and caregivers typically have a deeper understanding of their child’s individual needs, how they use social media, and how social media might displace other important activities like physical exercise, social interactions, and sleep.” She added that “importantly” the type of social media used, the user’s motivations, socio-cultural context, and environment are crucial considerations for policy development, rather than relying solely on numerical values like time spent.

Some apologists for that form of sectarianism claim it is "civic nationalism", but I fail to see anything civic in the notion that I/we are different (nay, superior) to you/them, by dint of existence on a certain land mass, divided arbitrarily to a great extent. Two-child benefit cap must stayTHE SNP Westminster leaded Stephen Flynn is urging the UK Government to abolish the two-child benefit cap. The cap introduced in 2017 prevents parents from claiming Universal Credit or child tax credits for a third child. Our merchant navy, responsible for trade and supply chains, is vital to national resilience. The Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) and merchant navy are fundamental to our island trading nation but all have too few ships and people to fulfil properly their roles.

In The Irish Times, we’re fortunate to have foreign correspondents on the ground, with Washington Correspondent Keith Duggan reporting all week from the Republican National Convention convention in Milwaukee. 4 I often don’t have to read Patrick Freyne’s columns myself, because my wife will read his piece and, every few lines, laugh, read a paragraph out, laugh again. However, perhaps the most interesting build-up piece of the week is not directly related to the decider. The Irish Thalidomide Association has demanded a proper apology from the Government, which it says was not contained in a recent letter. Before a planned meeting with the Government next Wednesday, one of the survivors has done a long interview with The Irish Times, which will be published – in print and online – on Tuesday.

Useful Products is a US-based small business established in 2007 by car wash owner, electrician, and former bodybuilder Anthony LaPolla that specializes in drill-cleaning brushes and attachments. Yellow is the “all-purpose” medium bristle, but some are softer and harder depending on what types of surfaces you’re cleaning (but none of them will scratch!). I came across this drill attachment set, and let me tell you, it helped me tremendously! I still had to get in with a putty knife on some of them but it really cut down my elbow-grease time. If it wasn’t for this drill attachment, I think my arms would have just fallen off trying to clean it as good as I did!

Dan Brown one shot off the lead as thrilling Open finale lies in store at TroonBy Phil Casey, PA Golf CorrespondentQualifier Dan Brown wrote another chapter in his incredible Open Championship story to set up a thriller of a final day at Royal Troon. Brown, who birdied the 36th hole in qualifying to secure his major debut, defied miserable conditions to leave himself 18 holes away from a fairytale triumph. The world number 272 held the outright lead until an unfortunate double bogey on the 18th, but a third round of 73 left him just a shot behind American Billy Horschel. Another birdie putt from Lowry came up inches short on the 613-yard sixth and Brown took full advantage, a superb approach leaving a tap-in. “That finish is why it’s a little bit deflating as I’ve ground it out today and through not hitting a bad golf shot I’ve dropped three,” Brown said.
