Those About to Die is not a reality-television competition for hair colourists (that’s Those About to Dye, and I hold the rights). No, Those About to Die is the new Prime Video prestige drama directed by Roland Emmerich, written by Robert Rodat and starring Anthony Hopkins. Will it feature big men in small pants hacking at one another with swords when not arsing around in brothels? The other is a shifty-eyed party politician called Domitian (an excellent JoJo Macari), who likes a flutter on the gee-gees. But an almost homeopathic dose of Hopkins is enough to launch a prestige drama in these straitened times, and I don’t blame them at all.

But this victory came at a very high cost as we lost 500 brave warriors in this three-month long battle. It serves as a reminder of the importance of robust military preparedness, effective intelligence gathering and inter-service cooperation. The main agencies for gathering enemy information are Intelligence Bureau (IB), Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Military Intelligence. But faster we pull up our socks, better it is for the security of this country.

British Gas owner Centrica’s profits have fallen sharply from record highs during the energy crisis, as Britain transitions to a 'more normalised' gas and electricity market. It said around £500million of the fall was due to the absence this year of energy crisis allowance payments. Energy companies have come under fire from consumer groups for their outsize profits in the wake of the energy crisis. O’Shea added that he hopes the UK’s new state-owned energy investment firm, GB Energy, could be an investment partner to Centrica on some projects in future. While other suppliers were squeezed by the energy crisis, Centrica’s wholesale operation meant it was a direct beneficiary of an increase in oil, gas and electricity prices.
