But, it turns out, mums and dads should be turning the spotlight on themselves – with one in five admitting to being addicted to their own social media channels. As many as 15 per cent also said they regularly felt sad or depressed because of the amount of time they spent on social media. Ireland saw economic growth in the double-digits in 2025 despite the economic and geopolitical threats that dominated last year, with new figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) showing gross domestic product (GDP) increased by over 12%.
