Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha chief Mohan Bhagwat Saturday said India’s trade deal should be done on its “terms and conditions” and not under anyone’s pressure or driven by tariffs. Bhagwat’s remark came as India is moving closer to signing a bilateral trade pact. “We cannot isolate ourselves from the world but deal should be on our terms and conditions. We will not do it under anybody’s pressure nor seeing the tariff,” he said, during a lecture series titled “Vyakhaynmanal – 100 years of Sangh Journey” in Mumbai, held to mark the RSS’s centenary. The lecture in two sessions also marks the fourth in the series where Bhagwat outlined the past, present and future of the organisation.

The deadline for the hearing under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was February 7. "I have appealed to extend the last date of hearing for seven days after receiving inputs from seven to eight district election officers. In some places, the process of hearing is yet to be over, while in others uploading, verification, and final decisions by the AEROs and EROs are still pending," Agarwal said. According to Agarwal, around 96–97 per cent of hearings have been completed so far, with only about three per cent pending in a few districts. At the very outset, praise goes out to the group for making available such resources (human, logistical and infrastructural) that allow a writer-director to conceive a play without having to censor imagination. And Mukherjee, who has in the past exhibited his proficiency in constructing scenographically-rich plays, goes all out in Chhayapath to mount what may be called an audio-visual extravaganza. To their credit, the majority of the actors (Debjani Singha, Partha Bandyopadhyay, Sayantan Moitra, Rick Deb, Shrimoyi Roy and Bhaskar Muherjee himself) etch out their characters convincingly. Such shortfalls notwithstanding, Chhayapath packs enough punch to stimulate interest and Partha Bhowmick, parliamentarian and theatre enthusiast, credited as ‘entrepreneur’ for the play, must be satisfied with what the team has achieved.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has condoled his death in a post on X. A policeman was killed and 13 other people suffered injuries after a swing collapsed at the Surajkund Fair in Haryana's Faridabad, officials said. The chief minister added that "necessary directions have been issued to the concerned authorities for the appropriate and immediate treatment of the injured individuals." Police Inspector Prasad had tried to save people when the "joyride began tilting," Faridabad Deputy Commissioner Ayush Sinha said, according to India Today. प्रयागराज (ब्यूराे)। आजमगढ़ से आकर पढ़ाई करने वाली 19 वर्षीय छात्रा दीपिका की संदिग्ध दशा में मौत हो गई। शनिवार सुबह फाफामऊ पुल के रेलवे ट्रैक पर उसकी लाश मिली। इसका पता चलने पर परिवार में मातम छा गया। मौके पर पहुंची शिवकुटी पुलिस ने छानबीन के बाद आत्महत्या बताया। कहा कि शुक्रवार को छात्रा ने एएनएम की परीक्षा दी थी। शायद पेपर खराब होने के कारण उसने आत्मघाती कदम उठाया है। मोबाइल को कब्जे में लेकर विस्तृत जांच की जा रही है। उधर, परिवार वालों ने कहा कि दीपिका आत्महत्या नहीं कर सकती है।असमंजस में परिजनबताया गया है कि आजमगढ़ के दीदारगंज थाना क्षेत्र के मीरअहमद गांव निवासी जय प्रकाश खेती करते हैं। दीपिका उनकी बड़ी बेटी थी, जो पिछले एक साल से तेलियरगंज में किराए पर कमरा लेकर आक्सिलरी नर्स मिडवाइफरी (एएनएम) की पढ़ाई कर रही थी। दीपिका जहां रहती थी, उसी मकान में बुआ का बेटा अंकित सहित कई अन्य रिश्तेदार के लड़के भी रहकर पढ़ाई करते हैं। शुक्रवार को दीपिका एएनएम की परीक्षा देने गई थी। रात को उसने अपनी राजकुमारी मां और परिवार के दूसरे सदस्यों से मोबाइल पर बातचीत की थी। शनिवार सुबह फाफामऊ पुल के रेलवे ट्रैक पर उसकी लाश मिली। रेलवे और पीएसी के गोताखोरों से जानकारी मिलने पर शिवकुटी पुलिस मौके पर पहुंचकर छानबीन शुरू की। इसी दौरान बुआ का बेटा और दूसरी छात्राएं, छात्र भी वहां पहुंच गए, जिन्होंने दीपिका के रूप में शव की पहचान की। घटना का पता चलने पर पिता जय प्रकाश, सिंचाई विभाग में जेई चाचा कमल समेत कई लोग पोस्टमार्टम हाउस पहुंचे। यहां चाचा ने कहा कि दीपिका पढ़ाई में अच्छी थी और आत्महत्या नहीं कर सकती है। शुक्रवार को घर में बात की थी, तब सब कुछ सही था। वहीं, इंस्पेक्टर शिवकुटी रुकुमपाल सिंह का कहना है कि बुआ के बेटे ने बताया कि छात्रा ने शुक्रवार को एएनएम की परीक्षा थी। संभवत: पेपर अच्छा नहीं हुआ, जिस कारण छात्रा ने ट्रेन के आगे कूदकर जान दी है। घरवालों ने अभी कोई आरोप नहीं लगाया है। जांच की जा रही है।
