Emergency personnel respond to an accident involving a tour bus near Susch, in the canton of Grisons, Switzerland. At least five people were killed and 40 injured in Switzerland on Thursday after a bus crashed near an Alpine village.According to Swiss police, the bus overturned between the villages of Susch and Zernez in the Alpine canton of Graubuenden. Rescue teams were deployed to the scene.Authorities said that the tour bus was carrying 48 tourists from Netherlands.A police spokesman said the coach collided with a crash barrier before overturning. No other vehicles were believed to have been involved.Oad, the travel agency behind the trip, said in a statement in Dutch that it was “deeply shocked and devastated by the tragic bus accident” and that its thoughts were with those involved and their loved ones.The Dutch foreign ministry said it was too early to determine the number of victims. Swiss President Guy Parmelin, writing on X, vowed that Swiss authorities would ensure a “comprehensive and thorough investigation” into the incident.Several ambulances and five helicopters were deployed to the site, according to Swiss media.

A Singaporean man has lost a court case to claw back hundreds of thousands of dollars that he had lavished on his ex-girlfriend while they were together. The S$468,000 ($369,200; £273,260) that Chander Agarwal attempted to recover from Felicia Lee was money he had "willingly" spent on her, the Singapore High Court ruled. Agarwal "displayed a consistent pattern of showering [Lee] with lavish gifts" even before they got together and would reassure her that he did not expect repayment, Senior Judge Lee Seiu Kin said. "The evidence before me clearly shows that the claimant, smitten by the defendant, had showered her with expensive gifts during their relationship," the judge said. In many text messages Lee had "expressed her awe when [Agarwal] suggested expensive gifts, and on occasion, her spontaneous reluctance to accept them", the judge noted.

Singapore's High Court rules in the woman's favour, with the judge saying the man "willingly" showered her with gifts, even before they got together.
