Besides, to have learnt that the company, owned by Ibrahim Mahama, brother of the former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is fully Ghanaian owned, a lot of people applauded him. The Dzata Cement Limited has started bagging production with a projection for three million tons of cement annually at full operational capacity at its over US$100 million investment located on a 10-acre land near the Tema Port. As part of the people who form the management of the company is one Jones Kay Maafo, son of the senior presidential advisor, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, who is the in-house doctor at the company. Following Jones Maafo's post on how he had started work with the new manufacturing company, many other Ghanaians have come out again to share some experiences they have had with Ibrahim Mahama.

"When the laborers realized in the morning that their master has not returned, they quickly informed the community and we went to search for him. After several hours of search, his lifeless body was found on the farm. The body was surrounded with bees and it was so strange. The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Half Assini Government Hospital morgue for autopsy while investigation has begun.

Out of the figure, Greater Accra and the Ashanti Region reported the most cases with 1,789 and 1,200 accidents respectively. A total of 896 road accidents were recorded with 259 persons injured and 26 perished in accidents involving commercial vehicles in Greater Accra alone. For the Ashanti Region which comes second place after the Greater Accra Region, 723 vehicles were involved in road accidents of which 274 persons got injured and 59 lives were lost. Meanwhile, research indicates that road accidents have claimed more lives in a few months than the Coronavirus pandemic has done in a year since its outbreak in Ghana.

In a release dated Wednesday, May 12, 2021, the Chief Imam said the current situation constitutes a security threat to the harmony in the country and has thus called on all stakeholders to exercise restraint and allow for leadership to bring effective closure to the matter. “The National Chief Imam, in the spirit of Ramadan and Eid ul-Fitr celebration, urges the Muslim Youth to desist from any act that may disturb the peace during the celebrations. The National Chief Imam further calls on all Imams to be mindful of the tone of their sermons in order not to further inflame the passion among the Muslim youth,” the release added. The Chief Imam’s Office further called for strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols outlined for this year’s Eid celebrations and demanded of the youth to not overindulge in their celebrations so as not to mar the beauty and purpose of the Eid. As stated by the current Chairman of the party, Mr Freddie Blay, unlike former General Secretary, Mr Kwabena Agyapong whose suspension was lifted this week, Mr Afoko is yet to trigger any process that could lead to his suspension being lifted. According to the Daily Graphic, Mr Freddie Blay explaining the party’s decision to lift the suspension of the former General Secretary leaving out the former National Chairman after the two were suspended around the same time said Mr Afoko is yet to file an appeal on his suspension. Mr Paul Afoko won the NPP's National Chairmanship in April 2014 but was suspended in October 2015 over what the party said were acts inimical to its fortunes. The former chairman of the party was suspended alongside Mr Kwabena Agyapong and Mr Sammy Crabbe who was then Second Vice Chairperson of the party.
