The first session of the Ethiopian Women Empowerment project’s new public advocacy course was held on Sunday in Tel Aviv. The purpose of the course is to equip Ethiopian Israeli women with the knowledge and tools to be ambassadors for themselves and their community in the public sphere, both online and off. Ethiopian Women Empowerment is backed by the philanthropic arm of the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM). The curriculum of the eight-session course includes lessons on public speaking, the English language, social media, content creation, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, among other topics. Earlier this year, four volunteer entities supported by CAM — including Ethiopian Women Empowerment — were recognized by Israeli President Isaac Herzog for their efforts helping people and communities impacted by the attack.
