Actress Donia Samir Ghanem, the daughter of late Egyptian comedian Samir Ghanim, shared updates on her mother Dalal Abdel Aziz’s health condition on Monday, stating that she was still in the Intensive Care Unit. Ghanem on Instagram wrote that her mother is still unaware of her husband’s death. Member of the Syndicate of Actors Nihal Anbar has slammed rumors that Aziz had left the hospital, and asked that people for her health. Journalist Rami Radwan announced in May that the family of his father-in-law did not tell Dalal of her husband’s death out of fear for her health. The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziry announced Monday said that the Museum of Antiquities in Ismailia on Friday received a sandstone stela dating back to the 26th dynasty. The round topped stela was found in Ismailia on Thursday by a citizen preparing his land for cultivation. Waziry pointed out that the stela is one of the border stelae that the Pharaoh erected during his military campaigns towards the east. The Berenice International Airport on Monday received its plane with 60 passengers on board. The airport administration organized a special reception for the EgyptAir plane by spraying water on it, marking the celebration of the airport’s first landed flight. The Berenice International Airport is considered a promising new airport stimulating the incoming tourism movement to Egypt, due to the richness of the region in tourist destinations and its unique location on the Red Sea coast. The airport consists of a corridor 3,650 meters long and 60 meters wide, an apron that can take up to eight aircraft and a terminal that can take up to 600 passengers per hour. The airport also includes a 58 m-high control tower and 47 technical, administrative and service buildings.

An Egyptian Member of the House of Representatives Enas Abdel-Halim accused famous artist and rapper Mohamed Ramadan of committing a “criminal act” that would harm the Egyptian economy by claiming that the state had seized his money. Ramadan posted a video on his Facebook page on Thursday in which he said that the bank had told him that the government seized his money. Halim demanded that Ramadan be held accountable for misusing social media in accordance with the articles of Law #175 of 2018 on combating information technology crimes. This “criminal act” could negatively impact the Egyptian economy and the Egyptian Stock Exchange, and could also harm even projects being carried out by the state, she warned. A collision on Monday between a lorry and a bus in the New Valley Governorate has left five people dead and 21 injured. The Deputy Minister of Health in the governorate said that 20 ambulances were dispatched to the incident’s location in Tanida village, transferring the injured to the Public al-Dakhla hospital. The agency added that the number of car accident deaths rose to 3,484 in 2019 – an increase of 12.9 percent. The rate of car accidents increased to 27.4 accidents per day in 2019, it said. CAPMAS attributed the main cause of car accidents to human error at 79.7 percent of the total road accident causes in 2019, followed by technical vehicle defects at 13.5 percent.

CAIRO – 7 June 2021: Business France is organizing a series of meetings between French companies and Egyptian counterparts as well as international financial organizations in Egypt on June 7-9. The last meetings of that kind took place in February, and cooperation occurs mostly in the sectors of energy, transportation, water treatment, waste recycling, and digital services. Prior to the current visit, Business France prepared a number of projects that can make a good ground for cooperation. Egypt’s Transport Ministry receives on Monday 22 more passenger railway coaches from the Russian Transmashholding company, bringing the total to 407 coaches. This batch consists of third-class coaches with dynamic ventilation, with the rest of the coaches to arrive according to schedule. Egypt signed a contract back in 2018 with the Russian-Hungarian Transmashholding Company to supply 1,300 train coaches to the ENR. The deal includes 500 third-class units with forced ventilation, 500 third-class units with air-conditioning, 180 second-class units with air-conditioning, 30 second-class units with air-conditioning and buffets, and 90 first-class units with air-conditioning.

REUTERS: Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White will replace Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold in England's final 26-member squad for the upcoming European Championship, the team said on Monday.
