Egypt’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hany Sweilam has witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Egyptian Survey Authority (ESA) and the Military Survey Department of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority for a project of operating fixed stations with various monitoring systems. The protocol was signed by Khaled Amin, the Chairperson of the ESA, and Mohamed Radwan, the Director of the Military Survey Department. Sweilam praised the distinguished technical capabilities of the Military Survey Department that enable it to provide services of modern technologies related to geographic information systems, in addition to carrying out all survey work with high accuracy and quality, using the latest international devices and technologies. The protocol aims to achieve cooperation between the two sides to maximize the benefit from the project of fixed stations, which consists of 44 stations spread in the Delta to Matrouh in the west and the Nile Valley to Edfu in the south. All government agencies and the private sector can benefit from the project and use different monitoring methods, which will contribute to speeding up the implementation of surveying works with high accuracy.

The activist's full name is Georges Ishaq Abou El Fadl Gad Allah, and was born in 1938 in Port Said governorate. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from Cairo University in 1964, becoming a school teacher after graduation. Ishaq took part in the demonstrations that followed the Six-Day War in 1967, and those that preceded the 6th of October 1973. That is in addition to student protests that took place in 1968 demanding waging war to restore Sinai Peninsula from the Israeli occupation. Ishaq had been member of the National Council for Human Rights since 2011 until his passing.

Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad are in need of emergency humanitarian assistance as the rainy season begins. Over 100,000 people have already crossed the border into Chad since the start of the fighting in Sudan. Nearly 30,000 refugees and returnees in the Sila region in eastern Chad are receiving limited and slow humanitarian assistance. Those fleeing the conflict in Sudan have also faced threats, while others have been made to pay so they could enter Chad. An urgent scale-up of humanitarian programming and funding for refugees from Sudan is needed, but the needs of the host community and other refugees in eastern Chad should be prioritized equally in this humanitarian response.

Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar announced Sunday the launching of first phase of early detection and treatment of cancer tumors under the umbrella of the larger ” 100 Million Healthy Lives Presidential Initiative” to protect citizens’ health and social security. Egypt announced imposing an entry visa for Sudanese citizens coming to its territory, after “the spread of illegal activities,” according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Saturday. Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ahmed Abu-Zeid, explained in the statement that “The Egyptian authorities have introduced regulatory procedures based on automated visas to confront these crimes.”“The Egyptian consulates in Sudan have been provided with the necessary electronic devices to implement these procedures in an accurate, fast and secure manner, ensuring the orderly arrival of Sudanese citizens to Egypt,” he added. The fund said in a statement: “Since the beginning of the crisis, Egypt has received the largest number of arrivals from the war in Sudan, as it is estimated that more than 113,000 people have arrived at the Egyptian-Sudanese border as of May 17, 2023.”“The numbers are increasing rapidly with the arrival of up to 5,000 people per day to the borders of Qastal and Arqin crossings. CAIRO – 10 June 2023: Egypt introduced on Saturday new automate visas for Sudanese travelers after spotting visa forgery activities by some individuals and groups in Sudan, Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid has said. As a result, Egypt has introduced regulatory procedures that depend on automated visas to confront these crimes, Abu Zeid said, according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry. He stressed that the new regulations do not aim to prevent or limit the number of Sudanese citizens traveling to Egypt. Since the start of the crisis, Egypt has received more than 200,000 Sudanese people to be added to around 5 million Sudanese citizens that have resided in Egypt since before the crisis, Abu Zeid said. The responsibility for providing the health, educational and housing infrastructure for all the Sudanese citizens in Egypt rests with the Egyptian government, which is responsible for providing basic services to the Sudanese citizens on its territory, Abu Zeid said.
