The singer led nominations for the 52nd annual Juno Awards, with six nods. Pop-punk singer Avril Lavigne and pop artist Tate McRae are also front-runners — each has five nominations. Lavigne and The Weeknd will vie for artist of the year along with Lauren Spencer-Smith, Michael Buble and Shawn Mendes. Shelters are not equipped to care for people after they are discharged, said Whitecloud. "We have a lot of people who are discharged from hospital and show up in a cab sometimes still wearing their hospital bracelets, still without appropriate clothing," Whitecloud said. "But we also have people that are discharged from hospital with long-term care plans. Clinicians work with patients to come up with a discharge plan, including consulting with a social worker and connecting with local shelters. Blaikie Whitecloud would also like to see shelters funded to provide more medical services, like a primary health clinic.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the death of a man who was stabbed Tuesday morning in an apartment on Saratoga Place, near the intersection of Bank Street and Hunt Club Road. Emergency crews say they were called to the Saratoga Place apartment at about 1:30 a.m.Ottawa paramedics say they took one stabbing victim from the scene to hospital in life-threatening condition. Police said the victim, a man, died in hospital. Paramedics said they took a second adult to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
