There is today too much foreign influence and interference in Western societies. If we have learned anything from these debacles, it is that our safeguards on foreign influence peddling are woefully inadequate, both in the United States and in Europe. [5] Again, it is not a shock that Qatar is a leader in the university influence game, followed by other Middle East players.

Morocco stands as the only partner in North Africa with whom the new Trump administration can join forces to counter an increasing Iranian threat to destabilize the region through the supply of drones and rockets to Algeria’s Polisario proxies. The rocket shows the scale of Algeria’s involvement in acting as a gateway for Iran’s destabilizing acts in North Africa. Last year, a Polisario rocket fell on a residential area in Smara killing one civilian and seriously damaging a house. What the US can doThe last thing the US and its European NATO allies fathom is another full-blown war with Iranian involvement in North Africa on the EU’s doorsetps. In North Africa, it has found a proxy agent in the Polisario militias as it seeks to export its “Islamic Revolution” to north Africa, where Morocco has stood as a bulwark against Shiite proselytism.

BEIRUT — The Moroccan government has approved a proposed 2025 budget that exempts defense firms from taxes, in what’s seen as an attempt to boost military production and encourage foreign and national defense producers to invest in the kingdom. The budget proposal is reportedly expected to increase the defense budget slightly from $124 billion MAD ($12.4 billion USD) in 2024 to $133 billion MAD ($13.32 billion USD) in 2025. Harfi said that the income tax exemption is not the first for defense firms, as the Moroccan government approved a few months ago a complete exemption from value-added tax for a specific number of years.
