The signatories of the Tangier Appeal, urging the African Union (AU) to expel the self-proclaimed “SADR” from the Union, have reiterated their urgent call to the African Heads of State to eject the Algeria-backed puppet undermining the AU credibility. They reiterated call for the expulsion of the pseudo-SADR from the AU which becomes handicapped by the presence of a separatist proxy that lacks all the attributes of a sovereign state. Two major international events were put off lately sine die to avoid Polisario’s attendance and political crisis. First Saudi Arabia had to cancel its summit with the African Union, followed by a similar decision from the EU. Global powers such as the United States, Russia, China, France, Japan, and South Korea reject Polisario’s presence in their African summits.

They were so epic (literally and figuratively) that historians still pour over things like "Fabian Strategy," double envelopment and unified command -- even at the U.S. Army War College. Rome demanded Hannibal be sent to Rome for punishment. What's worse for Rome was that Hannibal wasn't losing troops, but in fact was gaining them as more Roman allies defected. Carthage's allies began to defect as a large Roman army landed in North Africa. Hannibal would eventually become a fugitive, attack Roman allies for different nations and eventually kill himself after being cornered by Roman troops.

The same far-left Sumar coalition has turned its back to Algiers following a deal to form a coalition with Sanchez that included abandoning support for the Algeria-backed Polisario separatists. Sanchez won the support of Parliament to form a new government ending a political limbo that lasted for months since the PP that won elections failed to form a majority government. Under Sanchez administration, Spain has backed in 2022 Morocco’s autonomy plan as the only political solution to the Sahara issue, irking the Polisario and its mentor, Algeria. Algeria responded with a set of retaliatory measures including economic restrictions on Spanish imports and Spanish businesses, as well as threatening to cut gas. Earlier this month, Algeria returned its ambassador to Madrid, marking the recognition of its failure to pressure Spain to adopt a pro-separatist stance.

In early November, the governments of Kenya and Rwanda announced that they were extending visa-free travel to all African visitors to both countries. The two nations joined the Seychelles, Benin and Gambia in promising to remove visas as an obstacle to African travelers. While the move toward visa-free travel is a step in the right direction, it is not sufficient to address the range of challenges facing Africans crossing national borders in Africa. Free movement of people across Africa is not just a central demand of the pan-African movement. Free movement of people is also a key priority of the AU’s Agenda 2063, the main policy document that serves as a roadmap for the organization’s current programs.

The base is just outside El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur. Many of those killed were young Masalit men and relatives of Sudanese soldiers remaining in Ardamata, after the troops fled the town. On 5 November alone, 66 Masalit men were summarily executed in three separate incidents. The Ardamata attack is the second reported mass attack by the RSF and its allied Arab militia against Masalit civilians in a matter of months. Between May and June 2023, hundreds of Masalit men, women, and children – including the governor of West Darfur – were killed.

"Coal in North Macedonia represents 40% of the energy source, so it's very big, it's very important," EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso told Reuters. Both of its coal-fired plants are ageing, outdated and run on lignite, the most polluting type of coal. An IFC spokesperson said the green transition, including in North Macedonia, was one of its key priorities, but that it was not in a position to confirm any plan details. "The world's richest countries need to work with the multilateral development banks to find effective, structural ways to channel significantly scaled up energy transition finance," he said. North Macedonia joined the Powering Past Coal Alliance, a group of countries committed to phasing out coal-fired power, in 2021.

The AA announced today that motorists can expect the price of ULP 95 inland to drop to approximately R22.17 per liter, with coastal prices even lower at R22.05 per liter, marking the lowest rate since February. Diesel is projected to decrease to R22.15 per liter, which is less expensive than September's R23.05 per liter but still above August's rate of R20.21 per liter. Similarly, data from CEF released yesterday indicates that ULP 93 will see a reduction of R1.05 per liter, while illuminating paraffin is set to decrease by R1.75 (USD1 = ZAR18.2773) per liter. These adjustments are attributed to stable oil prices alongside the aforementioned stronger local currency and softer international product prices.
