Traditional Japanese art on show

The paintings come from the brushes of three artists: Shirofumi Takehara, a professor at Osaka University and art teachers Kimimochi Tauchi and Rei Hayase. By using natural mineral pigments, rock and shells, the drawing techniques take the viewer back 1,500 years. The exhibition also features glass sculptures by Yuki Uchimura and textile art by Keiko Takegaki. Guests are invited to attend a workshop led by Tauchi and Hayase this Saturday (August 26) where they will learn how to use colour and draw with traditional Japanese techniques on Japanese summer fans.
