Passengers in a Mombasa-bound bus from Dar es Salaam escaped death narrowly when the bus caught fire on Wednesday. Reports from Tanzania indicated that the bus belonging to Tahmeed Company was traveling from Dar es Salaam to Tanga when the accident occurred at a place called Komkonga near Korogwe. It was at this point that the passenger noticed that one of the rear tyres of the bus was on fire and alerted the other passengers to alight. It is said that a passenger had requested the bus driver to stop briefly at the scene of the accident to allow him to uproot some medicinal herbs in the bushes.
