Md Siam Ahsan Ayan, a college student who was part of the anti-quota student movement last year, gave testimony on the killing of Abu Sayed in a police-led attack during the July protests in Rangpur. On Sunday, Ayan, an 18-year-old student of RCCI Public School and College, appeared as the sixth witness in the International Crimes Tribunal in the murder case of Sayed, who was a student of Begum Rokeya University. Ayan, who sat for his HSC exams this year, shared his first-hand account of the incident that took place on Jul 16, 2024. He said, on the night of Jul 15, a meeting was held in Rangpur, where they decided to gather at the district school the next day to join the protest in support of the ongoing movement at Begum Rokeya University.
