When I was hired as president of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, I was given a mandate to initiate change at the university by the Board of Regents. Personal attacksWhat was different about being president at Memorial University, compared to the other universities I have led, was that the social media and email attacks began almost immediately, and quickly escalated. I let the Board of Regents know about it, and I released a statement to the university community. I am appreciative that I had the opportunity to serve as president of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, and I know the people of the province have a special place in their heart for their university.
