It is a great pleasure to usher in the new year with readers of Art’s History. And speaking of relatively unknown Prime Ministers, I note that 2023 marks the 150th anniversary of Alexander Mackenzie becoming the first Liberal Prime Minister in Canadian history. To begin the year I am once again doing so with an assist from our longest-serving Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King. Over to you Mr. King and happy New Year’s from Art’s History. On January 1, 1894, future Prime Minister Mackenzie King was 19 and an idealistic university student.
