Beijing: Chinese leader Xi Jinping waves from an open-top limousine during a parade to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of Communist China, in Beijing. AP/PTI(Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, following an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While the visit itself carries considerable diplomatic weight, another detail has drawn attention, the vehicle Xi is expected to travel in, the Hongqi N701, a heavily protected limousine built exclusively for China's top leadership. It's a bespoke state limousine from Hongqi, the luxury marque whose name translates to "Red Banner (flag)," and has previously accompanied Xi on overseas trips including Egypt, the United States, Russia and Hong Kong. According to NBC, its armour combines aluminium, ceramic and steel, with walls roughly eight inches thick and windows five inches thick.
