Both the hotel and bar are part of the ever expanding portfolio of hospitality venues developed by San Diego-based CH Projects. Part Time Lover, a Japanese-inspired listening bar that opened in 2022, is housed where Bar Pink, a dive bar and live music venue, operated for years but wasn’t able to survive the pandemic. CH Projects co-founder Arsalun Tafazoli said at the time he had never envisioned creating a music-focused business, but the project appealed to him because “music is such a huge part of what we do. Then again, it’s never just about the drinks.”Sintumuang was among a team of Esquire contributors who compiled the list. This is not the first time a CH Projects bar has been singled out by Esquire.
