Seasoned politician Koigi wa Wamwere has said there is danger in the political deal agreed between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto. Koigi, in his analysis, oversees a repeat of what happened during the Jomo Kenyatta – Daniel Moi political era. “In the time of Jomo Kenyatta, there was an arrangement wherein Kenyatta supported Moi, because Moi had not only supported Jomo Kenyatta, but even supported the settlement of Kikuyus in the Rift Valley,” he said. Ruto and Uhuru apparently made a gentleman’s deal where the DP will support his boss in 2017 and then receive the favour in 2022. The former Subukia MP said the deal later backfired creating animosity between the Kalenjin and the Kikuyus in the Rift Valley.
