Indian authorities have been requested by the Chinese to allow Xi’s staff to access the kitchen, apparently to sample some of the dishes on the menu and ensure they conform to the president’s dietary preferences. Like with the millet-heavy G20 menu, food on this occasion too is likely to be vegetarian.Apart from deployment of counter-terrosism forces and anti-explosion devices, the president’s hotel will also undergo comprehensive anti-nuclear, anti-radiation and anti-biochemical security checks ahead of his arrival. Security measures also include an inspection of the underground pipeline networks. Xi will be in India for 24 hours and will depart for the airport from Bharat Mandapam around 11 am on Sunday.
