Roscommon Gardaí took part in the recent Make Way Day. It is an annual campaign to make way on our streets for people with disabilities and to raise public awareness about the problems caused by obstacles blocking footpaths. Supported by various local organisations, Roscommon Community Gardaí conducted proactive patrols in Boyle, Ballaghadereen and Castlerea throughout the day. “We can all help to make our public spaces safe for everyone to share.”At the recent public meeting of the Roscommon Joint Policing Committee, the issue of illegal parking was also highlighted. A written question to senior Gardaí, read out at the meeting by Una Ní Chuinn of Roscommon County Council, said that able bodied drivers were using disabled parking spaces in Roscommon Town.
