(CNN) More than 60 airstrikes pounded Syria's rebel-held city of Aleppo on Friday, an activist with the opposition-aligned Aleppo Media Center told CNN. Emergency services hitOn Friday, Aljood told CNN that two civil defense buildings had been targeted by the strikes, including a site in the Al-Ansari neighbourhood in eastern Aleppo. Rescue workers work at the site of airstrikes in al-Mashhad neighborhood in the rebel-held part of eastern Aleppo. Other targeted neighborhoods included al-Fardous, where at least four people were injured; and al-Qateri, where a series of airstrikes left residents trapped underneath rubble, another AMC activist told CNN. Syrians in eastern Aleppo and other besieged cities and towns are facing a dire shortage of food, medicine and other supplies.
