The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has signed with Telecom Egypt (TE) the licensing and operation contract of fourth generation (4G) mobile phone services for EGP 7.08bn. Moustafa Abdel Wahed, CEO of NTRA, said that the new licensing allows TE to offer 4G services once it is ready. The licensing will allow the company to offer 4G services through its new frequencies. The NTRA has approved the regulatory framework of the Egyptian communications market, which includes offering 4G services. The 4G services will allow for increased internet speeds and enhanced quality of services as well as new services.
