A Russian politician critical of Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine has been banned from running in Russia’s presidential elections in March. Russia’s Central Election Commission on Thursday said it had found issues with more than 9,000 signatures of over 100,000 submitted supporting Boris Nadezhdin’s candidacy, with some allegedly attributed to dead people. “Taking part in the presidential election in 2024 is the most important political decision of my life.
