American electric car maker Fisker is appointing lawyers to help prepare a potential bankruptcy filing, according to reports in America. California-based Fisker started out in 2007 as the brainchild of Danish entrepreneur Henrik Fisker and became one of the first manufacturers to bring a plug-in hybrid car to market when the Fisker Karma was launched in 2011. Controversial pro-trans lobby group Stonewall received more than £1.1 million from the public purse last year, new figures have revealed. The think-tank TaxPayers’ Alliance found 14 per cent of Stonewall’s total income of £7,779,924 for 2022-23 came from the taxpayer. SpaceX launched the third test flight of its Starship spacecraft, the largest and most powerful rocket ever built, which aims to carry astronauts to the moon and, eventually, to Mars. After 50 minutes, it lost contact with the spacecraft and the live feed cut to the control room. Two previous attempts ended in the explosion of the spacecraft's engine booster and the cruise vessel, which is designed to eventually carry up to 100 astronauts. The first attempt lasted four minutes and the second lasted eight. The company says frequent flight testing will provide valuable data that will help it design and develop a more robust rocket

Ukrainian drones have attacked several oil refineries hundreds of miles from the frontline in Russian regions including Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod and Leningrad. Michael Gove has set out a new definition of extremism, which he said would not affect gender critical campaigners, trans activists, or environment protest groups, but would help block funding to groups that ‘undermine democracy’. A draft Leaving Cert specification on “climate action” would see students taught how to “effectively organise” around climate issues, and study the “tactics” of “activists,” including “direct action,” “civil disobedience” and more, Gript can reveal. “Through this Applied Learning Task, students learn how to effectively organise themselves totake action,” the document reads, adding that pupils will “work in groups to organise an action on a matter related to climate”. It further states that students are to study the “tactics” employed by “activists”, as well as lobbying, direct action, civil disobedience and more. “Students should be able to explore the role of Irish agriculture in conservation of biodiversity, climate regeneration and climate breakdown,” it reads. “Teachers should be aware of the complex integration of emotions with climate action andsustainable development issues in all aspects of the learning,” it says.
