Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo in the twilight of his brilliant career, topped the group with six points, two points ahead of South Korea. The 37-year-old is seeking to equal the Portuguese record of most World Cup goals held by Eusebio, who racked up nine in 1966 in England, the only World Cup tournament he played in, he also last week became the first ever player to score in five World Cups. Coach Fernando Santos made six changes to the side that beat Uruguay on Monday, mindful of the risk of yellow-card suspensions in the next round for which Portugal had already qualified before kick-off against South Korea.

“Hospitals that have collected money from gold card holders will be forced to pay it back, plus 15% interest per year,” Yupadee said, urging gold card holders who have been charged extra fees to contact the NHSO hotline (1330), saying it can be used around the clock every day of the week. Her comments follow joint research by the Thailand Consumers Council (TCC) and the NHSO into more than 3,300 complaints filed to the NHSO over the past five years by patients charged by hospitals for treatment despite having gold cards that entitle them to free healthcare. The TCC said that 3,329 complaints have been filed since 2018 and that when combined the total fees charged to gold card holders were 35.7 million baht. “Many people do not know that gold card holders must not be charged for medical treatment in any case,” TCC secretary-general Saree Ongsomwang said on Friday. Saree has submitted a letter notifying Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul of the problem and urging the ministry to take action to prevent the wrongful charges.

While the number of foreign passengers on international flights at Kansai International Airport jumped to about 206,000 from about 71,000 in September after the government significantly eased entry restrictions on Oct. 11, the number of Japanese passengers also increased from about 74,000 to 95,000. However, the number of Chinese visitors to Japan, which had been booming before the coronavirus crisis, has been sluggish due to the impact of the “zero-Covid” strategy in China. Both the total number of international passengers and the number of foreign tourists have recovered to only 15% of the pre-pandemic level of October 2019. On the other hand, a recovery trend for domestic flights has become clear, mainly due to an increase in the number of domestic travellers as a result of nationwide travel support measures that began in October. Domestic passenger volume at the Kansai, Osaka International (Itami), and Kobe airports totalled 2.1 million, up 70% from the same month last year, the highest level since February 2020 and more than 90% compared to October 2019.
