If observed, this would mark the beginning of Ramazan on Tuesday, March 12, in the country. The sighting of the crescent moon, a significant event in the Islamic calendar, signals the start of Ramazan, a month-long period of heightened spirituality and devotion for Muslims. In Saudi Arabia and other regions observing the Islamic calendar, Ramazan is a time of community, family gatherings, and special nightly prayers known as Taraweeh.
